The finale jumps years ahead, resolves the Joey/Dawson/Pacey love triangle by pairing Joey with Pacey, and shows Dawson pursuing his filmmaking dreams in Los Angeles. Jen's death adds emotional weight but also gives the group a definitive, bittersweet conclusion.

The series received a planned finale that resolves its central relationships and gives the main characters clear endpoints. It provides emotional closure rather than leaving major arcs dangling.
