Season 1 ends on a cliffhanger, but Season 2 fully resolves the story: Loki takes He Who Remains' place at the end of time, sacrificing his freedom to hold the branching timelines together. This 'God of Stories' ending gives the character a poignant, fitting culmination that retroactively makes the first season's setup worthwhile.

The series ran for two complete seasons and reaches a definitive, well-received conclusion rather than ending on a cliffhanger or cancellation. The character arc across both seasons is widely considered one of the MCU's most satisfying TV efforts.
