Escobar's storyline closes decisively at the end of season 2, and season 3 wraps up the Cali Cartel arc with the major players' fates resolved. The show ended on its own terms (leading into the Narcos: Mexico spinoff), delivering a satisfying conclusion rather than a cliffhanger.

The series ran for three planned seasons and tells a complete, historically grounded story rather than being cut short. Its central arcs reach definitive conclusions, so the ending pays off the journey.
