The finale closes the major arcs: the Byrdes escape consequences and secure their foundation, while Ruth pays the ultimate price, and threats like Darlene and Javi are resolved. The bleak 'the ruthless win' ending divided viewers, but it felt thematically earned rather than unresolved. A complete, mostly satisfying conclusion to a strong crime saga.

Ozark ran for four seasons and received a planned, proper conclusion rather than a cancellation or cliffhanger. The finale resolves the central storylines and delivers an ending consistent with the show's dark tone. For fans of slow-burn crime dramas, the journey is worth the destination.
