Vic secures immunity but loses his family and is left in a grim, constrained new life. The closing image is evocative, but the main story is resolved.

The series ends with a deliberate, conclusive finale that brings its central story to a powerful, fitting payoff. The ending is bleak, but not a cliffhanger.
